Pushing the Envelope
Many of us have heard this term before in aviation movies like “Top Gun” and elsewhere. I have found the following definition for where this term comes from~
“This is aviation jargon, where envelope means “the known limits of safe performance”. In the world of aeronautical engineering the envelope is the collection of curves that describe the maximum performance of an aircraft for given parameters. Test pilots often have to take aircraft beyond these limits–flying a plane faster or higher than had been done before–to establish exactly what the planes could do. “David Buley, Seaforth
For myself, I want to see how far I can push the envelope by pushing myself into new things and to see how far I can go. Last month I travelled to NYC to learn some new soap making techniques that I wanted to learn. This month of April, I seem to be into challenges for myself. I have joined the Ultimate Blog Challenge and have also joined a Soap Challenge for April. And I am also doing some Spring Craft Shows which I have been lax on doing. I feel like I am definitely pushing myself to produce and make things happen. I also hope to learn some new soap techniques to use in my business but mainly I hope these challenges will help me to learn more about myself.
I think this is why we push ourselves so much~ we want to help ourselves to grow and create and expand. We want to go beyond what we have done before to see how far we can go!
Spring is the perfect time to start this mode of action since all things in nature are growing and shooting for the sun!
What are your new things and goals to start for this new season. The energy is flowing and we are all needing to push that envelope!

I too am too lax, I need to set some monthly goals within my business. I need to not just attend networking events but to attend 1 on 1 business meetings to work towards my goals. Pushing my envelope is what I need to do.

I have an herb garden to plant as soon as I get home from my trip to Mexico, I have two books for kindle to finish and get to my proof reader. I have a wife, a dog and a house that all require my attention and I like to walk. I have just restarted Qigong and I like to make things to sell at fairs on the weekends and I have two guest blog posts to write by mid-month. At this point my cup is about 3/4 full but I’m sure I will be able to push the envelop soon.
