Cruising & Intentions
I just came back from a wonderful cruise to Belize and Cozumel. This was a third annual cruise but my second one with an awesome group of women small business entrepreneurs. We came to relax and have fun but we also came along to work on our businesses.
Donna Marie of Indie Business sponsors and hosts these annual business cruises and gathers together speakers and leads mastermind sessions on the sailing days so this was definitely a working cruise but so much information was passed along. Jennifer Hardaway, owner of KleanSpa presented “How To Expand Your Brand Through Mindful Collaboration.” Lela Barker, owner of Bella Luce and Lucky Break Consulting presented on “How To Get More Retail Stores To Buy Your Products, So You Can Make More Money“. LaShonda Tyree owner of Handmade Soap Coach presented “How to Make Money Teaching How To Classes” and Donna Maria Coles Johnson, owner of Indie Business Network taught “Top 10 Complementary Business Models for Handmade Entrepreneurs.” I would like to thank all for such wonderful talks and La Shonda also for gathering all the information in the above paragraph.
My small part in all this was leading a gathering on focusing on our intentions for this new year and leading a group meditation. We can have all the great plans in the world for what we want for our businesses but if we do not gather our forces and energies on them, they are lost to us. As business owners, we all want to make money and see our businesses grow but we also need to plant the seeds for what our goals are for this year. We need to nurture those seeds and care for them in order for them to flourish. This time of year is perfect for laying out what we want to establish the end of 2013 and much was shared for where we wanted to be.
My goals for Ritual Waters this year is to create a more focused business. I also want to expand my soapmaking classes to include more advanced classes and other skin and bath products classes.
What goals are you planting in your virtual garden for 2013?
