Bathing, Rituals
A Hot Bath and Sylvia Plath
Sylvia Plath once wrote “There must be quite a few things that a hot bath won’t cure but I don’t know many of them.”
Okay now, what things do you think a bath will cure besides cleaning some dirty kids and pets?
A bath can be your meditation space. Here, you can dump in or should I say add some scented bath salts, fill the tub with waters more hot and steamy than warm and just sit.
You can also light a candle and let the warm glow of that flame can soften the light down and bask you in that glow.
It can help bring you down from that ledge that we all sometimes feel you have been sitting with and all the chaos that surrounds us at times.
This space can call you at times to enter and drop your clothes and your daily burdens. Prepare your bath and immerse yourself into that water.
Imagine you are leaving on a journey in a winged ship over calm waters. Search to find yourself and where you have been this week and feel your breath guide you back home to your Self.
What journey calls you home?
Can I help you get there?
