How do I Love Me?
My granddaughter visited me yesterday, and we made a bunch of heart-shaped sugar cookies. And of course, I judged hers were much better than mine. It got late, and we didn’t chocolate dip the strawberries, but we shared some good times and some food and some laughs. She also brought me flowers. 😊
Valentine’s Day is usually celebrated by those in a relationship of some sort, and I, in my singlehood, was not looking for gifts of wine and flowers. But relationships between grandma and granddaughter are to be treasured and celebrated also.
But I hope you all realize something about this day?
Today is also the day to celebrate you! We all have someone we want to tell that we love them, whether our Mom, daughter, sister, friends or partner. But we leave out the most important person, which is ourselves.
Self-love is not being selfish. It’s appreciating who we are and how wonderful we are even if no one else says this. So, I am saying this to you, and you need to hear the words and tell them back to yourself.
I know I have taped to my mirror the words “there is only one beautiful you” and feel silly if I say them aloud. But there is only one me, and then I mutter thank goodness. One is enough. 😊 But we are unique in ourselves, and for this reason, we should be celebrated. And we should do it ourselves for this reason.
So in honor of this day, I am telling you to take some time and draw a warm bath, pour yourself a mug of tea or a glass of wine and strike a match and light a candle. Immerse yourself into the water, breathe in and out, and settle into the beautiful person you are!

Good points to keep in mind! It’s important to take time to treat yourself right.
