Ocean Waters ~ Rivers ~ Lakes
I grew up on Long Island and Jones Beach and the ocean waves of the Atlantic were part of my childhood. I LOVED the water , even when they crashed over me so I was thrown under and came up sputtering and with sand in my swimsuit. I loved standing in the sand and letting the waves come up and try to drag me back in. When I visited Long Island several years ago on a trip back home from NC, I stopped by Jones Beach and just sat on the beach looking over the water. It was off-season so I was pretty much alone. I just sat there listening to the waves crash onto the shore and it was so peaceful and calming.I found something interesting online that the sound of the ocean waves alters brain wave patterns that in effect lulls you into a more relaxed state of being.
One can feel a real connection to the waters of the earth and one gets drawn into something greater than one’s self. It does have an almost spiritual quality to it and a magnificence to it. The mystery of the waters. Right now I am landlocked in central North Carolina and miss the ocean allot. One of my ways of getting back to it if only symbolically is taking a bath with bath salts and that seems to fill me up as I relax and calm down from the days stresses.
What draws you to the various bodies of water and what are your favorite one’s and why?
