Creativity
How do you fill your creative well?
What I mean by creative well is that place where our creativity springs from and our passions and artistry. Where we go when we want to be more than the daily tasks and stresses of life. We are all artists in our own ways whether it’s cooking ~ arranging flowers in a vase ~ journaling ~ gardening ~ anything that we love doing for the satisfaction it gives us. This well we need to keep full so we can draw inspiration from it to bring us joy and pleasure.
This has been a very very busy week and it has morphed into Saturday and will probably sink its teeth into Sunday too. I have been sitting here pondering this blank page in front of me and wondering how to move my fingers across the keyboard and fill it up. Sometimes when we rush rush and rush around we burn ourselves out by dipping into our creative wells and empty ourselves out until we are as thin as paper and will fly away.
I have emptied my tank and now need a refill so I can begin again on Monday. One way I do this is to take a relaxing bath and just sit. Another way is to go on a date with myself and do something fun whether it’s a walk, a movie or just sitting and reading a good mystery.
Taking some me time I have found is the best way. I also like to get together with a friend and have dinner and talk or just kid around and just laugh. The words saying Laughter is Good for the Soul are very wise. I consider this playtime- hanging out with friends.
How do you fill your creative well when you feel spent and empty?

I fill the well much the same as you. I also treat myself to a full body massage once every two weeks!! This is my gift to me!

Lovely post. Reading always helps me, and listening to music. And I find the more I write, the more I find to write about. Creativity is like a muscle we need to exercise.

Definitely Donna, and this blog challenge has me doing allot of exercise in writing and so needed. I have been doing way too little lately! Thank you for stopping by!
